The first prototype of our new Winchester shape.  3D Printed in aluminum.  3 loft / 70 lie.  352g.

This putter was inspired by a shape made by another company a few decades back.  That design was about as low MOI as a putter can be (very compact, almost all of the mass of the putter concentrated directly in the center), yet something about it really worked visually for some players.  That putter was even used to win a major championship....

Seeing one on instagram recently made me think about what could be done today with 3D printing to capture some of the visual appeal of that design but boost the MOI and forgiveness up to a more competitive level.  And the Winchester is the result.   It's a much bigger putter than the design that inspired it (4.5" wide heel to toe). The heel and toe are loaded with tungsten (about 55g in each, covered by titanium inlays adorned with a lasered scroll pattern), along with a big slug of exposed tungsten at the rear of the cylindrical flange, yielding an MOI north of 5500 g-cm^2 (for reference, this would land in the middle of the range of MOI's of the various current TM Spider models).

The shaft plane on this putter points directly at the putter's center of mass (about 2 shafts of onset) and is vertical (no awkward forward shaft lean).   This yields a balance scheme that I wouldn't call "torque free", but torque free adjacent.  The putter has no dominant toe or heel hang.  It isn't face up or face balanced.  I'd call it CG balanced.   Works great for a straight-back, straight-through style stroke.

Feel wise this putter plays like a big aluminum mallet.  We lasered a pixel face pattern into the center of the face and this yields a particularly soft impact feel.  The head itself however is made of aluminum and it has a bit of that aluminum resonance feel.  Not pingy or high pitched, but more resonant than a steel putter for sure.  If you're accustomed to the feel of more compact steel putters this might not be your jam.  But if you're a fan of larger aluminum mallets this should be in your lane.

Price includes a KBS CT Tour 120 steel shaft (upgrades available) cut to your preferred playing length and any commonly available grip of your choice.  Note: this putter does not come with a head cover.  (We don't have any in stock that fit this shape.)
